Good news from thailand.
According to the governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, tourists will be allowed into Phuket from October 1. Earlier proposals had put the date in November.
Tourists traveling in October will be required to undergo a mandatory 14 day quarantine and each tourist will be required to pass two Covid-19 tests.
After the 14 days,tourists will be free to travel within Phuket.
This first group of tourists will have to stay in government appointed alternative state quarantine (ASQ) hotels that will provide a one-kilometre space for guests. It is expected that the government will appoint several ASQ locations in Phuket.
If the first international tourists to Phuket complete their trips without local transmissions, Thailand will be ready to open for tourism during the winter months.
