Marcel Jansen is a PADI Course Director with over 20 years of experience in the diving industry. Born in the Netherlands, he earned a degree in engineering and began his career working as a mechanical engineer and a trainer for engineering software.

After being certified as an Open Water Diver in 1999, Marcel became a PADI Instructor in 2003. Since then, he has been diving and working in Europe, Egypt, the Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. He was invited to join the PADI Course Director Training Course and earned his PADI Course Director status in 2018.

As founder of Asia Scuba Instructors, Marcel now leads Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) across multiple locations in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Marcel is known for his approachable teaching style and commitment to student success. He teaches in a relaxed, friendly manner with a strong focus on building confident, capable instructors who feel ready for real-world diving jobs.
