PADI Divemaster course in Phuket
Our PADI Divemaster course in Phuket is organised together with Sea Fun Divers Phuket. Sea Fun Divers is a PADI Career Development Center – the highest PADI dive center rating – and has 4 offices in Phuket. Sea Fun Divers is one of the few dive centers in Phuket that run their own dive center, equipment service center, boat and minivans.
Our main divecenter is located inside the luxurious “Le Meredien Resort” from where we have access to awesome training facilities and a private beach and house reef.
During your Divemaster training, you will get an opportunity to gain hands on experience in working with a busy dive center and retail shop. You will spend time with customers and staff and will be fully prepared to become a scuba diving professional!
Best of all, we offer unlimited shore diving to our Divemaster Candidates to help them gain more under water experience and increase their logged dives.
Divemaster course options
Our Divemaster course takes three to five weeks. There is no fixed schedule, you can start when you like. The time to complete the course depends on your experience and effort but also on the number of courses / customers that we have and on the weather conditions.
Prerequisite to start the PADI Divemaster course is Rescue diver. If you are not a Rescue diver yet, you can complete this course with us in a couple of days. Normally you also need a minimum of 40 logged dives to start your Divemaster course. Because we are PADI CDC center, you only need 20 logged dives to start the DM course with us.
Typically, our Divemaster candidates log about 40-50 dives during their course.
What will you learn?
Practical skills
During your Divemaster course you will work with one of our experienced instructors to finetune your theory knowledge and diving skills. You will also take part in many workshops and practical training sessions to learn about the PADI programs that you can conduct as a Divemaster.
Become a member of our team
During you Divemaster course, you will be a valuable member of our team. You will be assisting our experienced instructors on daily dive tours and all levels of dive courses. We have a team of 10 instructors that speak many different languages and our customers come from all around the world.
Assisting on courses and dive trips
As a Divemaster in training you will also be assisting our experienced instructors on daily dive tours and on all levels of dive courses. During these sessions you will dive on our house reef and join on our boat during dive trips to the local dive sites. You will work closely together with other Divemaster candidates and gain valuable experience to become a dive pro!
Learn at your own pace
During your course you will be able to study Divemaster theory and practical skills at your own pace. You will also be able to refine your diving skills over many dives and gradually take on more responsibility while assisting our team of instructors.
Things to remember
Dive gear
It is highly recommended that you use your own dive equipment on the Divemaster course. Anyway, if you are planning to work in Thailand, it is good to know that most dive centers will expect you to bring your own equipment.
We do not sell dive equipment in our dive center but all main manufacturers have retail centers in Phuket and we can buy divegear for you at discounted prices. Please ask us about the details.
Accommodation prices
There is a huge choice of accommodation in Phuket ranging from backpacker style to 5 stars. Budget rooms can be found from THB 500 in low season. Karon beach and Kata beach area are close to our dive center location at ‘Le Meredien resort’. Other areas that are popular places to live for diving staff are Chalong (close to the pier) and Rawai/Nai Harn. If you need help to find a good place to stay we are happy to help you out!
