What is the PADI IDC?
The PADI Instructor Development Cours (IDC) is the most important step to become a certified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).
Our 10 day IDC prepares you to confidently teach all PADI core courses, from Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster. You’ll learn how to conduct classroom presentations, confined water sessions, and open water training, while at the same time refining your dive skills and gaining professional-level knowledge.
Successfully completing the IDC already qualifies you for a PADI Assistant Instructor certification and allows you to attend an Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

What’s it Like to Become a Dive Instructor in Indonesia?
Becoming a scuba diving instructor in Indonesia is more than just a job — it’s an exciting way of life. You’ll dive every day, live by the ocean, and help others enjoy the underwater world. Starting your diving career in Indonesia might be the best decision you ever made!
Dive Instructor job opportunities:
Indonesia is one of the most popular places in the world for diving. Tourists come from all over to dive in places like Bali, the Gili Islands, Komodo, and Raja Ampat. Because of this, there is a strong need for scuba diving instructors, especially from April to November when the weather is best.
Lifestyle:
Life in Indonesia is relaxed and friendly. You’ll meet people from many different countries and work with others who love diving as much as you do.
Within Indonesia you are sure to find a location and lifestyle that fits your preferences.
Bali has lots of restaurants, shops, and activities outside diving. The Gili Islands offers a bustling party scene. Komodo and Raja Ampat are quieter with beautiful beaches and astonishing diving.
Cost of living:
Indonesia is a cheap place to live compared to many other countries. Some areas are cheaper than others, and your lifestyle of course determines the budget that you need. If you want, you can enjoy Indonesia on a small budget.
Dive Instructor Salary:
How much you earn as an instructor in Indonesia depends the location, the divecenter you work for, and your own experience. In places like Komodo and Raja Ampat, you’ll generally teach less courses. In these locations however, you have the opportunity to work on liveaboards which is hard work, but good money. In Bali and the Gilis, salaries are lower, but you can still make good money because you can teach many courses and dive centers can be very busy, especially during the high season
Beautiful diving and plenty of job opportunities make Indonesia the perfect place for ocean lovers to start their diving career!
