Becoming a PADI Platinum Course Director

I am excited to share some great news! PADI has awarded me Platinum Course Director status! This is the highest rating a PADI Course Director can achieve, and I am proud to join this small group of instructors.

What is Platinum Status?

PADI Platinum Course Director is the top recognition in the PADI training system. Less than 10% of all Course Directors worldwide reach this level. It recognizes Course Directors who train many new diving instructors each year.

Together, Platinum Course Directors certify more than 70% of all new PADI instructors around the world. This means a small group of us is responsible for training most of the diving industry’s new professionals.

Looking Back at 2025

Last year I ran 15 Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) in different locations across Asia. Each course had students from many countries, all wanting to become professional diving instructors.

I want to thank every student who chose to do their training with Asia Scuba Instructors. Learning to become an instructor is hard work. It takes time, effort, and courage. I am proud of everyone who completed their training with me!

I also want to thank the dive centers across Asia who worked with me. They provided good facilities, support staff, and training sites. Without them, I could not run these courses.

Why Train in Southeast Asia?

More and more people are choosing to do their instructor training in Southeast Asia. There are good reasons for this.

The diving conditions here are excellent. The water is warm. There are many different dive sites – coral reefs, walls, wrecks, and more. Students can learn to teach in many different environments.

The region is also stable and safe. Dive centers here follow good safety standards. The cost of living is reasonable. And the diving community is friendly and welcoming to people from all countries.

Plans for 2026

Getting this recognition makes me want to work even harder. My goal is not just to certify many instructors, but to train confident instructors who are safe, knowledgeable, and care about their students and the ocean.

When you train with Asia Scuba Instructors, you learn more than just teaching skills. You learn how to be a professional in the diving industry. You learn how to keep people safe. And you learn why ocean conservation matters.

If you are thinking about becoming a diving instructor, I invite you to consider training with us in 2026. We rin PADI IDC’s in several beautiful locations around Asia. We will help you build the skills and confidence you need, and we will kick-start your career as a diving instructor in Southeast Asia!

A huge ‘Thank You’

This achievement belongs to many people, not just me. I owe u huge ‘Thank you’ to all the students, dive centers, and supporters who made 2025 such a successful year.

I look forward to training more instructors in 2026 and continuing to grow the community of divers who care about our oceans.
