Komodo has a growing community of dive professionals from around the world. You’ll meet other divemasters, instructors, and people who love diving during your IDC. Azul Komodo is based in Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park. As Indonesia’s first Certified PADI Eco Center™, Azul Komodo is deeply committed to conservation and sustainable dive tourism. The dive center has everything you need for a relaxed experience during your PADI IDC.
Azul Komodo offer daily diving trips, all PADI courses and diving liveaboards on their flagship Blue Lotus . The team has a deep passion for scuba diving and teaching. They focus on quality training, safe diving, and protecting the environment. Whether you’re an English, Dutch, or German speaker, the team provides expert instruction in your language.
Your Course Director and Staff Instructors bring 20+ years of teaching experience. They are happy to share their knowledge and experience to make you succeed and become a confident instructor.
Before or after the PADI IDC, you’re welcome to join on their liveaboard trips or on the daily dive trips on their dive boat Asmara, that is designed by divers for divers with sustainability in mind.
Our unique support
From the moment you sign up, we will help you prepare with digital study materials and practice exams in our online classroom. During the PADI IDC, you’ll participate in classroom presentations, confined water workshops, open water teaching exercises, and rescue assessments.
After successfully completing the PADI IDC and IE, we offer opportunities to co-teach together with one of our instructors. We will support you in finding your first dive instructor job. We don’t just teach tricks to pass the exam. We’ll make you a confident diving instructor, ready to inspire the next generation of divers.
Getting to Komodo
Labuan Bajo has direct international flights from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, and flights from Jakarta, Bali, and Surabaya. Beyond diving, you can see the famous Komodo dragons on Komodo Island or Rinca Island, visit Pink Beach, and hike to viewpoints for beautiful photos. The best diving conditions are from April to November during the dry season.
