What made you decide to become a diving instructor?
I have always been fascinated by adventure sports, and upon becoming a divemaster, I discovered an opportunity to further explore the extreme adventure sport of scuba diving. Alongside exploration, I sought to raise awareness and share my knowledge with enthusiasts worldwide, prompting my decision to become a diving instructor.
Why did you choose to do it with Asia Scuba Instructors?
I flew to Phuket in March 2017 with friends to enroll in my PADI Advanced Open Water diver Course. During this period, I had the opportunity to meet Marcel, whose distinctive teaching methodology, knowledge, and dedication set him apart. After accumulating experience as a Dive Master and opting to become a Diving Instructor, Asia Scuba Instructor was the first name that came to mind, considering Marcel’s teaching prowess and willingness to impart knowledge to students.

What do you think is the most important thing that you’ve learned during the IDC?
While learning from Marcel, I observed that he creates a comfortable environment before any task. I have been employing these techniques while teaching courses to my students. Therefore, the most important thing I have learned during this IDC is role model behavior.
Was it difficult to pass the exam?
I would say no. Due to our rigorous preparation, we felt confident. The mock exams ensured we were well-prepared for the exam.

What about your first working experience? How did your first courses go?
It was a truly exceptional experience working as a diving instructor, as I had always envisioned. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to share my expertise and raise awareness among my students.
I loved teaching my inaugural course, an emergency first responder program. Working in the extreme adventure sports industry necessitates readiness, thorough preparation, and staying updated for any potential emergency
What do you like best about the instructor life?
In my opinion, the greatest advantage of being an instructor is the chance to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, leading to a rich exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experiences that go beyond diving and delve into world culture and life.

Any advice for divers who want to become PADI instructors, like you?
I would like to offer advice to aspiring instructors: this role is both interesting and serious. Once you become a diving instructor, it is your responsibility to promote awareness about marine life conservation and safe diving practices.
